MetaResearch (metaresearch.group) is published by MRG Canada, registered at 13154 137 Ave NW, Suite 1034, Edmonton, AB T5L 4Z6. That entity decides what this notice says and is responsible for the personal information described below.

What is collected
Two kinds of information reach the site. The first arrives automatically with every visit: the pages requested, the approximate location the request came from, the type of browser and device, and the site or advertisement that referred the visit. This is used to count readership and to keep the site working.
The second kind is given deliberately: an email address entered into the newsletter form, and whatever a reader chooses to write in a message to the editor. Nothing more is asked for. The site does not run reader accounts and does not take payments.
Cookies and advertising
MetaResearch uses cookies and similar storage to remember settings, to measure how many people read a briefing, and to carry display advertising. Advertising partners may set their own cookies to limit how often an advertisement is repeated and to measure whether it was seen.
Where the law requires it, a consent choice is presented on the first visit. Measurement and advertising storage are only set once that choice allows them, and the choice can be reopened and changed at any time from the link in the footer. Storage needed to serve the pages themselves stays in place regardless, because the site cannot load without it.
The newsletter
An email address given to the newsletter form is stored by MRG Canada and the email service it uses, and is used to send MetaResearch briefings. Consent is recorded with the date and the wording agreed to.
The email service records whether a briefing was opened and which links were followed, so the editors can see which subjects readers want more of. That record is not sold and is not used to build a profile beyond the newsletter itself.
Partner offers
Some briefing emails carry an offer from a partner, and every such message names the partner in the message itself. Sending one does not hand the partner a subscriber list: the email goes out from MetaResearch, and an address is only shared with a partner if a reader takes a deliberate step, such as submitting a form the partner runs.
Partner offers are separated from the editorial part of the email and are labelled. They do not decide which studies get covered.
Unsubscribing and other rights
Every briefing carries an unsubscribe link in the footer, and one click ends the emails. A request to editor@metaresearch.group does the same thing.
Depending on where a reader lives, they may also ask for a copy of the personal information held about them, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw consent for a use they previously agreed to. Requests go to editor@metaresearch.group and are answered within the period the applicable law allows.
How long information is kept, and how to reach the publisher
Newsletter records are kept while a subscription is active and for a limited period afterwards, so that an unsubscribe request can be honoured and evidenced. Traffic measurement is kept in aggregate form.
